Amber’s Best Ever Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

These cookies are so gooey and delicious! I often bake a double batch to share with friends.  :-) Amber

Ingredients:

2 ¼ cup all-purpose flour

1 tsp. baking soda

½ measure of a 1/8 tsp. baking powder

1 tsp. salt

1 stick real butter

½ cup Crisco shortening

¾ cup granulated sugar

¾ cup packed brown sugar

1 tsp. vanilla

2 eggs

1 1/2 (12 oz.) bags chocolate chips (you can use whatever type of chocolate chips you like)

1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Combine flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in a small bowl. Beat butter, shortening, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla in a large mixing bowl. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in chocolate chips (and nuts if desired). Drop by ice cream scoop (for large cookies) onto baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for approximately 15 minutes (for large cookies) or until golden brown. Let stand for 5 minutes, then remove from baking sheet and cool on wire racks. Makes approximately 17-20 large cookies.
