Retirement Open House - Friday April 26th, 2019

Join us Friday, April 26th from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM at Knilans’ for an open house celebrating team members Jay and Lark, who will be retiring after long careers with us. Enjoy food and drinks throughout the day as we thank Jay and Lark for all they’ve done over the years. This is a chance for us to celebrate two people who have given so much to Knilans’, and we hope you’ll join us in wishing them well.

Jay Lofgren has been a designer here at Knilans’ for 18 years. He has a unique ability to connect with people and understand their needs and interests. “Jay is born to sell, and I believe he could sell anything well,” says Knilans’ owner Tim Schlicksup, “but he is passionate about design and fashion.” That passion shows when you meet Jay - his distinctive and distinguished style extends to everything he does, from dressing well to great interior design.

His ability to connect with people, coupled with his sense of style, has made completing design projects for clients a breeze. In his retirement, Jay plans to enjoy his new place in Florida, where he can easily pursue his interest in boating.

For 40 years, Lark Randall has been a fixture at Knilans’. Since 1979, she’s contributed so much time, effort, and talent to our team, both personally and professionally. She monitors the business as if it were her own, and works as if she owns the company. Her steady presence and business savvy have been invaluable over the years.

“Lark is the most loyal employee I know,” says Tim. “She is part of the family, Knilans’ will be different without her.” Her husband, Mike, will also be retiring this year, and after long careers, they look forward to enjoying the next phase of life together.

Both Jay and Lark have been part of the Knilans’ family for years, and saying goodbye is always hard. We wish them only the best, and we are so thankful for their hard work in their long careers here. This open house is a chance to celebrate their accomplishments, share good memories, and toast to their futures, so please, join us! Whether you knew them well, or just want to honor their years of service, you’re invited to drop into Knilans’ between 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Friday, April 26th.
